Agricultural Innovations
The mission of our startup is to leverage on local talent and resources in spearheading technological innovations as well as improve small holder farmer lives through increased productivity and income.
Cocoa Processing Steel Fabrications
We're building a better, faster, and safer way of cocoa pod breaking. Our design is a locally fabricated mobile cocoa pod breaking machine that automatically separates the beans from the husk and placenta thereby maximizing productivity, reducing labour cost, and on-farm hazards.
Partnerships
We currently have an ongoing partnership discussion with an Agritech company that is interested in our design and product. And we also have other stakeholders in the Ministry of Agriculture and some Farmer Based Organisations that have shown great interest in our product and are also interested in partnerships.
About Us
Our Story.
TeXperg Corporation is a collection of Global Technological Experts contributing ideas in different fields to bring innovation and solutions. Leveraging on local talent and resources in spearheading technological innovation. Improving small holder farmer lives through increased productivity and income. Our dream is to become a catalyst for social change by using design thinking knowledge to create simple solutions to help impact society
At TeXperg AgriTech and Machinery, we provide the following services:
- • Working on our pilot project of cocoa pod breaking machine.
- • Locally fabricate Agric implements for farmers.
Growing up in a typical cocoa farming community, I witnessed the drudgery and hazards most farmers went through in breaking their cocoa pods. I've always wanted to do something about it. The worst part is seeing children missing classes to support their parents in this activity. I knew I had to use my engineering to step in to help resolve this problem, considering how COVID-19 even stepped in to prevent communal-related activities. So that was how the cocoa pod-breaking machine was birth to tackle this problem.
Our Partners
We have several partners which specialize in various things. These partners include Bluetown, Care, Ghana Cocoa Board, SAYeTECH & GNACOFA. Bluetown provides cloud storage for our contents, Care connects us to the farmers in catchment areas, Ghana Cocoa Board provides us certification for machine manufacturing, SAYeTECH supports us with research, building, and validation and GNACOFA procures and purchases our machine for operation
Help end Child-Labour
The consumption demand for cocoa is gradually increasing, and this calls for faster means of cocoa production. Our proposed solution to help cocoa farmers produce cocoa is a faster and a more convenient manner to meet the demand. Our proposed solution will create new jobs and also serve as a lucrative venture for our target market as there's a year on year growing demand for cocoa pod breaking services. Africa alone contributes over 70% to the world's cocoa production, with Ghana being the second-largest producer after her neighbor Cote D' Ivoire. Therefore, this project would has a significant impact in the cocoa sector of Ghana and the continent at large since there is no such available system to aid cocoa farming.
But more importantly we intend to significantly reduce on farm hazards and child labour by 50% in 10 years.Cocoa pod breaking is a post-harvest activity that is still a significant challenge unaddressed over the years. According to ARPN journal (2012), 77% of cocoa farmers rely on external labour of which 75% of them suffer from various hazards and injuries associated with post-harvest activities.
A bigger social issue we're also addressing is the over 2 million children reported to be involved in farm child labour in West Africa.
